Limits of radar on this site
Radar images arrive a few minutes after they are scanned. Farther from a radar station, the beam is higher above the ground and may miss precipitation near the surface. Mountains and some other areas have gaps in radar coverage. Radar and satellite images on this site cover only the lower 48 states. For Alaska and Hawaii, use National Weather Service radar.
When weather turns dangerous
Follow instructions from official weather and emergency services. Do not wait for the map on this site to update.
